Food Technology is a popular subject at Moon Hall.
Pupils will have access to Food Technology lessons either timetabled weekly or through an optional activity for Seniors on Friday afternoons. The lessons will cover an understanding of healthy eating as well as teaching and developing food preparation skills to utilise at home.
Our BTEC Home Cooking Skills (Level 2) gives pupils the knowledge, understanding and skills required to cook meals at home and apply the principles of food science, nutrition and healthy eating.
This qualification provides the essential life skills and knowledge required to plan meals and source ingredients. Pupils will gain understanding of how to economise and transfer skills learnt to their families.
Pupils must be able to make the connections between theory and practicals to apply their understanding of food and nutrition to their preparation of dishes.
