We understand that navigating the world of dyslexia can be both overwhelming and challenging for parents and students alike. That's why we are here to offer support, guidance, and a nurturing environment where your child can thrive.
Every dyslexic child is unique, and we must find their strengths and nurture them.

At Moon Hall School, we embrace dyslexia as a unique learning difference rather than a limitation. Dyslexia is a neurological condition that affects the way individuals process language, making it difficult to read, spell, and write with ease. Individuals with dyslexia often have difficulty with phonological awareness (the sounds in words), verbal memory (remembering spoken and written words) and verbal processing speed (understanding and responding to spoken and written words). Many people with Dyslexia might also have additional difficulty with language, coordination, concentration, organisation and maths. However, it is crucial to remember that dyslexia does not define your child's intelligence or abilities. In fact, many individuals with dyslexia possess exceptional talents in areas such as problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
I may struggle with words, but I excel in expressing myself through art and creativity.

We recognize that traditional teaching methods may not be as effective for students with dyslexia. That's why Moon Hall School employs a specialised and evidence-based approach to cater to the individual learning needs of each student. Our dedicated team of dyslexia specialists, educators, and therapists work together to create a personalised education plan for your child, ensuring they receive the necessary support to reach their full potential.
Our school utilizes multisensory teaching techniques, engaging different senses such as visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic, to enhance learning and memory retention. This approach not only strengthens reading, writing, and spelling skills but also fosters a deeper understanding of concepts across various subjects. Through hands-on activities and interactive lessons, we aim to make learning an enjoyable and rewarding experience for every student.
It's not about how fast you read or how well you spell; it's about the ideas and creativity inside you.

Dyslexia can sometimes lead to feelings of frustration, anxiety, and self-doubt. At our school, we prioritize building your child's confidence and self-esteem. By celebrating their achievements, encouraging perseverance, and fostering a growth mindset, we help students develop a positive attitude towards learning and themselves. We want our students to embrace their dyslexia as a unique part of their identity and understand that it does not define their worth or potential.
We understand that supporting a child with dyslexia extends beyond the school environment. Our school provides ongoing support and resources for parents and families, including workshops and access to professional experts. We believe in fostering a strong partnership between the school and home, ensuring that your child receives consistent support and encouragement on their journey.
